Mr. Danish Football
AFL (Australian Football League) is a religion in Australia, and so too for Morten Engsbye, 17,000 kilometres away in Denmark. Morten became a fan of AFL in 1998 after watching a recording of the famous 1989 Grand Final between Hawthorn and Geelong, played in front of more than 100,000 screaming fans in Melbourne. Though Geelong lost that match, they won a fan in Morten, and he’s been a passionate supporter ever since. Morten’s love for AFL sees him playing for the Copenhagen Vikings in the Danish AFL as well as commentating games broadcast live from Australia into Denmark for sports channel Eurosport.
