The My Story project is one of Geelong City’s (Victoria, Australia) key events in celebration of International Day of People with Disability. It is for people with a lived experience of disability and mental health to find their own voice and ‘tell their own story in their own way’. Stories are told through words, paintings, digital imagery, photography, sound, music, movement and film. Included were 119 participants, aged between 15 and 82, and seven mentors, of which I was one, from a range of professions and creative disciplines. I directed and produced the My Story film (and all photography) as a way to capture the essence of the project and its participants.
